Once Upon A Time’ Recap: Hook & Emma Rekindle Their Romance

The Oct. 12 episode of ‘Once Upon A Time’ featured an icy blast from the past for Elsa. Plus, Captain Swan made serious headway in their romance!

Brrrr, it’s getting seriously cold in Storybrooke. On the Oct. 12 episode of Once Upon A Time, the Snow Queen (Elizabeth Mitchell) made her debut, Robin (Sean Maguire) made a shocking confession and Hook (Colin O’Donoghue) and Emma (Jennifer Morrison) finally [SPOILER]!

‘Once Upon A Time': Frozen Memories

Robin, Marian (Christie Laing) and Roland (Raphael Alejandro) spent the day walking around town. Robin tried to tell Marian that she would grow to love Storybrooke. The little family agreed to go to the ice cream parlor for a treat. The Snow Queen served them, with a special topping on Marian’s treat! Uh oh.

When confronted by Emma & Co, Rumple (Robert Carlyle) said he had no idea about Anna’s necklace. Apparently, something had happened to Elsa’s (Georgina Haig) memories, so she doesn’t remember much from a section of her life. As usual, Emma didn’t believe Rumple’s innocence, so Belle (Emilie de Ravin) used the dagger to command him to tell the truth. Rumple (maybe) was telling the truth! (Knowing him, he has something up his sleeve.)
Flashback to the Arendelle days, Elsa was growing increasingly worried about Anna. Kristoff (Scott Michael Foster) assured her that Anna (Elizabeth Lail) could take care of herself. “Right now, your kingdom needs you more than Anna,” he told her. Kristoff was right. Prince Hans (Jacob Tyler Moore) was leading an army in the Southern Isles to take over Arendelle.

As the new mayor, Snow (Ginnifer Goodwin) and baby Neal had their first fireside chat! Pretty much everyone was flipping out about Elsa. During the heated meeting, Marian fainted and an silver streak appeared in her hair. (Just like Anna in Frozen!)

‘Once Upon A Time': Operation Mongoose

Regina (Lana Parilla), being the cool mom, brought Henry some comic books at Granny’s. He said those were totes cooler than algebra. (Where and when does Henry go to school?!)
But Regina had an ulterior motive and Henry knew her game. She revealed that she wanted the writer of the storybook to write her a happy ending. To her surprise, Henry agreed to help her. Operation Mongoose, they would call it.

Robin ran to Regina to ask for help with Marian. Regina didn’t know exactly what was going on, but it was some powerful magic. Elsa showed up and proclaimed she had nothing to do with it. Everyone assumed that true love’s kiss would break the spell, so Robin went in for the kill.
BUT IT DIDN’T WORK. (Regina and Robin forever!)
Shocked by the turn of events, Regina tried to lessen Robin’s pain by saying every curse was different. (Haha. Yeah, right.)

Emma wanted Hook to stay with Elsa since she was basically the town pariah. But Hook wasn’t into saving Elsa’s life.
“I’d rather save yours than hers,” Hook told Emma.  (OMG. LOVE.)
Back in Arendelle, Kristoff deliberately disobeyed Elsa and headed up the mountain to spy on Prince Hans.
Yeah, Prince Hans is still the worst. And his sideburns are quite a character.
Hans still believed that he would be the future king of Arendelle because he had a picture of an urn. The urn was hidden in a cave in a valley and was capable of trapping people like Elsa! Oh no!

‘Once Upon A Time': Adventures Of Kristoff & Elsa

Kristoff and Elsa went investigating so they could destroy the urn. They finally found it, but there was something written on the urn that piqued Elsa’s interest. Elsa wanted to wait before she destroyed the urn. This was an all-around bad idea because Hans and his brothers showed up. Hans had Kristoff at swordpoint and demanded Elsa hand over the urn or Kristoff would die.
In the present day, Hook and Elsa were spending some quality time together. Being a stubborn queen, she didn’t want to be saved. She wanted to find out who else had magic like hers.
Charming and Emma came upon Will Scarlet in the woods who said he could help with Marian! Meanwhile, Regina revealed that once the curse touched Marian’s heart, Marian was a goner.
However, Regina still thought she could help. She just needed something in her vault.
After Hook and Elsa separated, the hot pirate snuck back to Rumple’s shop. He offered his silence in exchange for help. Hook knew the dagger Belle had was a fake. “You would never let anyone have power over you,” Hook told him. Rumple caved and led Hook and Elsa to the person who cast the spell!
As they headed into the woods, Elsa and Hook had a chit chat about Hook’s current love life situation. Elsa revealed that their issues were because of Emma and not because of him. “With the weight of the world on your shoulders, it’s hard to let people in,” Elsa said. (She has a point.)

‘Once Upon A Time': As Cold As Ice

Kristoff pleaded with Elsa not to hand over the urn. However, Elsa sacrificed herself. She wanted Kristoff to find Anna and save Arendelle.
When Hans opened the urn, gold liquid poured out to form the SNOW QUEEN! She turned Hans straight to ice. (Thank god!)
Elsa thanked the Snow Queen for saving her. “No one should be trapped in that urn,” Snow Queen replied.
We learned that the Snow Queen was Elsa’s mom’s sister! She also agreed to help Elsa find Anna! (All lies!)
In the present day, the Snow Queen had trapped Hook. Elsa had no idea who the Snow Queen was, and Snow Queen said that was because the rock trolls took away her memory.
“Eventually, they grow to fear us,” Snow Queen said about the others. “I wonder how you ended up trapped in that urn. Anna put you there.”
WHAT? NO WAY!
The Snow Queen admitted that she hurt Marian to teach Elsa a lesson. She also neutralized her magic for now, so when Hook died it would look like her fault.
Before Snow Queen could do anymore damage, Emma and Charming showed up.
“You really think your magic is a match for mine?” Snow Queen asked Emma.
Bam! Emma blasted the Snow Queen and saved Hook and Charming from the deadly icicles. Unfortunately, the Snow Queen got away before she could be captured. Barnacles!

‘Once Upon A Time': True Love’s Kiss

Regina was ready to take her drastic measure to save Marian. But first, Robin had a confession. “I’m in love with someone else,” he said to Regina. That’s why true love’s kiss didn’t work!
Regina pulled Marian’s heart out and put it in a box. It would stay there until Regina found a cure. (That should be never. Marian’s the worst.)
Ugh, Emma was angry at Hook for putting himself in danger, but he wasn’t going to let her get away this time.
He grabbed her with his hook and it was totally swoonworthy. That’s something I never thought I would write.
Hook wondered why Emma didn’t trust him, but that wasn’t the root of the problem.
“Everyone I’ve ever been with is dead,” Emma said.
“I lost everyone. I can’t lose you, too!”
Hook assured her that she didn’t have anything to worry about. Then, THEY KISSED IN THE STREET!
HALLELUJAH. CAN I GET AN AMEN?! CAPTAIN SWAN IS FOREVER.
Okay, back to the show. (Sorry, I’m fangirling.) The Snow Queen and Rumple know each other because of course they do. Rumple was glad that Emma didn’t remember who the Snow Queen was. It wouldn’t be good thing if she did. Rumple asked her if she was ready to make a deal. Not yet, she said.
What is the Snow Queen’s whole deal?! Can Regina just get rid of her please? (Sources from http://hollywoodlife.com/)
